Before studying to be a nurse, Phoebe Ezuruike began her career in health care as a medical assistant with South Orange OBGYN & Infertility Group. While earning her bachelor's degree in nursing from the State University of New Jersey at Rutgers, Phoebe Ezuruike worked briefly as a nursing assistant float for Newark Beth Israel.
Upon earning her degree, Ms. Ezuruike was hired by Newark Beth Israel as a staff nurse in 2021, where she led a 24-bed medical-surgical unit. She cared for eight patients daily and helped increase patient satisfaction scores by 25 percent. She also coordinated nursing assignments for 10 team members. Ultimately, her work as a staff nurse streamlined processes, improving patient safety protocols and satisfaction.
Ms. Ezuruike now works as a charge nurse at Newark Beth Israel, where she oversees a high-performing team of five nurses and three CNAs, fostering excellence in patient care and improving communication and patient satisfaction. Her work as a charge nurse has culminated in lasting relationships with more than 20 patients and their families, and improved care collaboration with health care providers.
Ms. Ezuruike is a member of the American Nurses Association and Sigma Zeta National Science and Math Honor Society. Her education and training includes a bachelor’s degree in health science from Castleton University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from William Paterson University.
